I have to say that I am not too impressed with high street retailers at this moment in time. As all you shoppers will have already realised, all of the shops are full of either sequins, lace or shoulder pads, not that I have anything against these trends. It only makes the shopping experience more stressful when trying to find that unique little number for a night out and not match another ten of twenty people within a ten metre radius.
I was always made to believe that retailers were trying to compete against each other to provide us with what we want to purchase, however the only competition is which retailer can have as many of the same items as the next. Not too good for shopaholics like me, well desired shopaholics as the lack of income due to my student occupation.
Does anyone, anywhere really want three of four versions of the same outfit? I don't think so....
All the stores have the same black sued boots with the gold studs, all have a range of sequin blazers, sequin leggings, jeggins, lace or sequin crop tops, sequin dresses, lace and jersey dresses, jersey blazers, t-shirts with drawn on jewellery, fur coats, floral printed tops/dresses and the list goes on. The point I am trying to make is that one year ago you could clearly recognize where a person bought their clothes as each retailer had a specific look, however today if you were to look through a range of shops you would not remember what items came from which store.
It sorts of puts you off going out shopping....even right before Christmas.
Poor show British retailers.
But until next time....
je vous aime!
